Supriya Vohra is an independent journalist and writer based in Goa, India. She writes about environmental and social issues, and documents the lives of people, animals, food, and the changing climate. She has a keen interest in issues related to water, food security, mining, fisheries and marine environment. She also covers issues exclusive to Goa as a state.

Her work has appeared in the BBC, Caravan Magazine, Hakai Magazine, Mongabay India, Mint, The Hindu, The Outdoor Journal amongst others.

In January 2020, she received the Earth Journalism Network grant to write about the issues around marine fisheries subsidies in India.

In November 2020, she received the International Women Media Foundation grant to write about the various impacts of iron-ore mining in Goa — its impact on Goa’s paddy, impact on water supply, employment, health impacts and financial fall-outs of truck owners.

She currently resides in Goa, and is always on the look out for interesting collaborations and assignments related to environmental and social issues.
